4AD to re-release Bauhaus' debut album in super cool special edition..

From 4AD:

Travelling way back to the beginning, 4AD/Beggars Archive are re-issuing the first ever album on 4AD - Bauhaus In The Flat Field. A foundation stone of what became known as 'Goth', this music transcends the limitations of the genre it spawned. Peaking at number one and remaining on the UK Indie chart for over two years, this dynamic collection defies categorisation, offering an incendiary tinderbox of driving jagged rhythms, screeching guitars, brooding atmospherics, provocative lyrics and wildly animated vocals.

This Omnibus Edition (BAUBOX 1) is presented as a limited edition box set with the two CD’s in Japanese-style paper sleeves, reproducing the original vinyl cover art, accompanied by a 48 page book that chronologically details the genesis of the album with rare memorabilia and photographs and contains the complete lyrics. The re-mastered music includes In The Flat Field restored to it’s original sequence plus a second disc of the non-album singles and previously unreleased out-takes and alternative versions.

Issued on 19 October, alongside an Omnibus Edition of Bauhaus' sophomore album Mask (BAUBOX 2), there is an exclusive offer for pre-orders from the Archive web site. This is a bonus disc entitled ...And Remains that contains additional alternative mixes/takes and live recordings and can be ordered from both the UK and USA sites.

Apparently Bela Luggossi isn't dead..
