Mmpsuf's debut EP (which is FREE via the band's site) is absolutely stunning. A must own/obsess over album from 2012. Like a wintery Taxi Taxi! meets Midaircondo♥♥. Velvet Glacier is a criminally smooth frozen tundra melting slowly over a teched out experiment. The end product being "Lo-Fi Experi-Pop". I would also recommend THIS album and THIS album of VG's. The Name are French duo with an ear for catchy House/Disco beats. I especially love this Christine remix from their latest 'Journey EP'. Pop Campaign are a girlfriend/boyfriend duo who will be releasing their debut album on Valentines day. They Remind me of an act from the late 90's/early 2000's Electro Pop boom that unfortunately fizzled.. I hope you enjoy the future transition..

"Post-Electro". It's the label of the music Errors seems to so closely mirror, whether as a conscious effort of the band or not. But while many would fear subscription to the image of "Post-Electro", this Glasgow-based quartet in their seven years of existence have proven the depth of a genre too often underestimated. Every work of theirs is a fresh reminder that styles with the prefix "Post" these days don't always mean susceptibility to formula.

Errors's third album, 'Have Some Faith in Magic', is the product of none other than Rock Action Records. It seems logical for the Mogwai-ran label to foster a band like Errors, because in the ten tracks constructing their latest work, Errors finds themselves exploring as many styles as does their label. “Tusk” opens the album with a taste of blissed-out trance beats until a sonic flurry throws the listener into an epic world of heavy guitars and glistening synths. “Earthscore” pummels with tribal percussion and "Battles-esque" programmed vocals. “Blank Media” takes you back twenty-years with the dreamy guitar style of Pale Saints before mimicking the electronic melodrama and shine of M83. “Canon” parodies Errors's own curious brand of dance music as a slowed-down, minimal version of itself. However, nothing prepares the listener for “Holus Bolus.” It closes the album on the highest of notes: an anthem combining all of the band's spirits into one powerful and melodic ride.

Highly recommended. The newest full length from Errors proves that constant exploration still remains in their bloodstream. Don't let the stereotype of "Post-Electro" – or "Post-Rock" for that matter – hold you down. Stay loyal to the album's name, and "have faith in some magic" that a band's sonic pursuits can defy expectations and thrill the mind. Hear for yourself how Errors once again have proven themselves to be one of the most spellbinding acts in their field.

Geneva Jacuzzi Bio:
Geneva Garvin (aka Geneva Jacuzzi) is a songwriter, visual and recording artist from Los Angeles, California. In her music she has honed a blithe and cryptic wit filled with sultry puns, double entendres, and irreverent references to mysticism and the occult. From 2004 to 2007 she fronted the tongue-in-cheek goth band Bubonic Plague, an influential cult favorite in the burgeoning scene in LA’s Echo Park district.

Her music has used styles that range from Darkwave, Goth, Lounge and Tropicalia. She recreates these sounds in painstaking detail on a portable 8-track cassette recorder.

Her recent recordings have zeroed in on a discarded period in electronic funk and dance music associated with groups like Morris Day and The Time, El DeBarge and Zapp & Roger. She infuses these styles with elaborate instrumentation and harmonically complex textures that are technically difficult to achieve using her recording equipment. These distilled instrumental pieces often last under 30 seconds.

She has also developed a collage-art style that she uses to package her own music and Ariel Pink’s Haunted Graffiti albums. Like her music, her album covers consist of other album covers, intricately re-worked and shuffled so as to give the impression of a sensuous time in contemporary music, while avoiding specific references or quotation.

I'm as well as can be expected.

What are you currently listening to?
The sweet song of "My Cockatiel" (Norman). His melodies are quite unique. Tonight, he seems to be venturing off into a rather strange style of music. It sounds almost like a classic Zarzuela sprinkled with a hint of Mariachi. It's actually kinda good.

What's the story behind the band name?
Well, Geneva is my real first name and Jacuzzi is my fake rock and roll last name.

Which artist(s) influenced you the most when it came to creating your signature sound?
Oh how I wish I knew what my signature sound was!! Anyway, this is hard so I'll just list whatever pops into my head. Devo, Kraftwerk, Depeche Mode, Human League, Sparks, Abba, Fad Gadget, Chrome, Prince, MJ, The Cure, Ministry, The Associates... this could go on forever and I know I'm forgetting all the Good ones.

Who is your favorite artist from the Los Angeles area?
Uh, Christian Death, Duh!

What's your least favorite genre of music?
GENRE MUSIC

Is there a tentative title/theme/release date for your next album?
What? Who said anything about a next album.

Will you be touring for said release?
Oh definitely!

There are a lot of good albums out there. HA! but none that good

No, My dream is to become a Jedi Knight and live out the rest of my days levitating in the magical ice caves of Hoth.

Geneva Jacuzzi is an unforeseen miracle dug up from the bowels of the internet. It seems she has a bit of a following in the L.A. art/music scene as well as is known for her previous Goth project Bubonic Plague. On her debut LP "Lamaze" Ms. --umm Jacuzzi dives head first into a bath of Post("Pre" maybe?)-Electro Pop sounds infused with what sounds like/can only be described as Tropicana Goth music. I'm thinking "Art" would be the best term when it comes to "defining" Geneva's style. It's unique to her that's for sure.

Back when I was a kid I used to watch horror movies all time, the "cheesier/gorier" the better. One day while shoppin' around I stumbled across the gem (a movie that changed my life..ha!) "Terrorvision". Which is about a wealthier Euro-trashy-American family living in L.A. that decide to invest in a satellite dish for their over-eccentric/posh-deco infused home. Little did they know that a freak accident would transport a fugitive alien into there home via said satellite, giving them the strangest shows possible. Eventually the monster-alien thingy escapes from the TV and begins eating people. You're really in for a treat with this film. Throughout the film's entirety you get the sense of watching a Married With Children Halloween special. All the characters are somewhat stupid, slimey, or incredibly fake. One of the characters, the "punk-rock/glam" teenage daughter, tunes into what could be the cheesiest, maybe best New Wave/Electro Music video station ever ..I'm pretty sure I saw Geneva Jacuzzi on there. I'm just gonna go on the record and say this album may not be for everybody, but I really wish it was. If any of these words strike a chord in your heart you need "Lamaze" oh so badly.

"Lamaze" is (indeed) very catchy, bizarre/weird/artsy, well produced (yet lo-fi-esque), and just plain old fun from first to last synth. If you're at all fascinated by the world of art-snobs/video artists dabbling in the "retro" Electro music scene this ones for you. Highly Recommended.

Brian Lindgren (Mux Mool) creates some of the freshest, forthcoming, yet vintage beats out there today. The kind of music he creates could easily be classified as IDM. But more than just IDM, "Skulltaste" (Mux Mool's 2nd full length) is chopped full of 8-bit to 16-bit noises, Hip Hop beats, Dance music, a little bit of Psychedelia and the "intriguing" piece of vintage Electronic homage that makes every Ghostly artist stick out so much.

"Skulltaste" starts off with a Psychedelic-kaleidoscopic arpeggiated sound that could easily be mistaken for all future soundtrack rides into outer space. From there it goes into Hip Hop, Electro, video game sounds, and even Disco-ish dance music. The music on this album really will apply to anyone who has ever liked anything Dance, Hip Hop, or video game oriented. One of the sounds that sticks out the most for me on this album would be the sleazy/queasy synth sounds that give you sense of listening to R n' B music while being force fed vast amounts of acid. Their super thick and will f&^% with your head. Awesome stuff! I also LOVE the beats on "Skulltaste". Anything from semi-glitchy to Hip Hop to even Industrial always sounds good coming from the right producer. Kudos to you Mr. Mool, you have done it again, you have set the bar again, and you have left me with wanting more. Electronic music this good only comes along so many times a year, and this is definitely one of it's shining moments in 2010.

Chances are you will see "Skulltaste" pop up a lot this year on many a blogger's year-end lists. RecommenDID!
