EIC's 10Q's w/ Kool A.D.

".. more than competent enough & ready to produce the next best underground Hip Hop release of all time...."

Kool A.D.
Calculating Oddball

Kool A.D. Bio:
Kool A.D. (real name Victor Vazquez) is a Bay Area-based solo rapper and the drummer of hardcore band Party Animal. He was previously one half of Queens-based rap outfit Das Racist and one fifth of electro-pop group Boy Crisis .  He now resides in the Bay Area and makes hella Wavy Rap Art.

Hello, how are you?
Pretty good, just woke up.

What are you currently listening to?

When did this project come about? I'm assuming you supply all of the beats & remixes on your latest mixtapes..
I self-produced and recorded the first KOOL A.D. album in 2006 on my laptop: http://koolad.bandcamp.com/album/electric-kool-a-d-acid-test. I had written and recorded a lot of music before that but that was the first project under the name KOOL A.D.
If you're asking about Das Racist, I quit a few months ago.
Yea the double mixtape is mostly collaborations with other rappers, beats from various people, '6'3 was mostly produced by Amaze 88 who I've known since middle school and who also produced most of my last
mixtape '51' http://koolad.bandcamp.com/album/51

Care to tell us a little bit about your latest mixtape '19', was there a certain style you were aiming for, maybe an overall theme?
'63' and '19' are a double skreet album I put on the internet. '63' is meant to be an oceanic skreet album and '19' is meant to be a syncretic skreet album.

Got any other projects we should know about?
I got a punk rock project I play drums in called Party Animal putting out a record and touring in March. We'll be at SXSW. Also I have another mixtape with Seattle rap/jazz dude Kassa Overall called Peaceful Solutions, I exec-produced and co-wrote on Proto-Post Pop act Cult Days' self-entitled EP, I made about an EP's worth of tracks with Toro Y Moi, the projects tentatively called The Everlastin' Gospel Mission, also made tracks with Bay Area crooner Safe for a planned release called Western Self Control, also started a group with one of my main producers Amaze 88 and East Bay Area hardcore punk rock legend Loren Hell called Future Grammy Winners.  We got a release called Bohemian Rap CD coming out this year.  I also am working on a "proper" solo album called O.

In your opinion whom is the most underrated "underground" Hip Hop/Rap artist out there currently?

What movie would work best on mute while listening to your music?

You can only keep/listen to ONE album for the rest of your life ..which album would it be?

Are you living your dream?
More or less, yeah.

Thanx Victor!

Kool A.D. is currently/always bringin' the jamz, try to keep up...
