REVIEW: Halls - Fragile EP

8 out of 10

This ('Fragile EP') has to be one of the nicer surprises of the year. For those of you who haven't heard Halls, please take a moment and get yourselves acquainted. (I feel the "thank-yous" via wifi --you're all welcome.)

Albums have the ability to really "wow" you sometimes. Given the right mood this album will indeed give you that sensation. Halls' sound is best described as Sleek/Dark-Urban Classical (intricately layered) Synth Gaze. Think Thom Yorke (solo), Sinner DC, and/or Sigur Ros. Modern Electronica clicks, hums, and thumps it's way in-between, airy synthesized strings, and sometimes very agreeable vocals that have the ability to lull your aural senses. I really can't find anything I don't agree with on this album, I just want more (NOW.)

is gorgeous. (VERY)Highly Recommended.

Standout Tracks: All.
