Lotus Plaza is full of dreamy guitar riffs, "Doo Wop" style vocals, "tight" Lo-Fi production, most likely computer generated electronic samples, layered keyboard effects, and comfortable amounts of reverb. Although Lotus Plaza does "Xerox" Atlas Sound's style quite closely there are a few more atmospheric/ambient moments that pop up. Also, with Lotus Plaza, it does seem like there are more "upbeat" moments at times too.
The Floodlight Collective is a fine start for Lotus Plaza. I look forward to more releases in the future. Buy this if you're into any of the bands mentioned above. Buy this if you're into Dream Pop or Lo-Fi music. Don't buy this if you dislike good music. Another contender for "Best Of" 09.
Standout Tracks: Red Oak Way, Quicksand, These Years, Whiteout (probably my favorite track), Sunday Night, Antoine (also, probably, my favorite track), The Floodlight Collective (insanely lush ambient track), A Threaded Needle, ...man I want more already.
