It's common now. Undiscovered talents all over the place are releasing terrific (better--sometimes--than those that can afford to release physical) albums, EPs, singles, etc. for FREE via their bandcamp sites (etc.). This is a more than exceptable concept that
Rotten Tropics is reminiscent of a garage band with focused energy on Gothic tones melded with Post Modern soundscapes. There is also a bit of Industrial sludge there, as well as a throwback to the early days of simple/elegant Post Punk music. Guitar, drum machine, keyboards (guessing), a few samples, and vocals are the instruments of choice. Dark disheartenment (with heart) & obtrusive tones are the themes. "Corrosive Tropes" is an impressive EP that sheds a little more light on this mysterious act that hopefully (soon) one day will rise up from the shadows (but maybe bring all that darkness with him?) and take his rightful spot next to some of the best mopey Post Punkers out there.
If you're into Lo-Fi Industrial meets Post Punk Shoegaze "Corrosive Tropes" is right up your alley. Get this now, I think you can afford it.. Recommended.
Standout Tracks: Exotic Metals (heart this), Post Crucifixion(..when the guitar noise comes in..oh yesss please..)
